I don't have a lot (yet), but I love the way they look and smell and feel!
I did NOT take that picture! But isn't it intriguing? Don't you just want to stroke their binding, take a breath and see what story lays inside the pages!? Oh man do I ever!!
This pictures I did take and, yes, those are my books.
Left to Right:
Top row: A pictorial of the life of Misty, Black Beauty, The Black Stallion, Ramona the pest
Middle row: Ellen Jane, The Five Little Peppers, Winnie-the-Pooh, Four Dolls, Henry Huggins, Five true horse stories, Fathers Big Improvements.
Bottom row: Black Beauty, The tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes.
Some of them aren't really that old, but they do look it. :)
One of my favorites is Black Beauty (top row).
Publish in 1945, this book is for sure old!
And beautiful.
Just the other day I walked into our schoolroom, and saw an old book on a shelf.
There was no name on the binding, so I picked it up.It was called:
"A Short Exposition of Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism"
The pages where yellowed and there was writing the margin. (This is my kind of old book!)
When ever I see an old book I like to see when it was published, and this one was in 1912!! 'Wow' I thought. It makes you wonder who first bought it and what it has been through.
I am always on the look out for books sales so if you know of any coming up, please let me know.(!)
-Emily :)
